Pressure tank maintenance

Pressure tank maintenance should be performed when the hydraulic accumulator is empty.

Hydraulic accumulator inflating.

Measure air pressure.

Remove the protective cap from the nipple.

Measure the pressure in the air cavity of the hydraulic accumulator using a pressure gauge. The standard pressure at the empty accumulator is 1.5 bar.

Hydraulic accumulator inflating. Inflate the accumulator up to required pressure of 1.5 bar, using a hand pump or compressor. Mount the protective cap on the nipple.

Hydraulic accumulator diaphragm replacing

Removing the old diaphragm.

Remove the protective cap from the nipple. Depressurize the air part of the accumulator.

Run water off the accumulator into the drain line.

Unscrew the bolts from the flange that holds the diaphragm with a wrench. Remove the flange.

Get the old diaphragm out by hand. If there is water in the air space of the diaphragm, run it off into the drain line. Let the accumulator cavity dry out.

New diaphragm mounting.

Mount the new diaphragm in the hydraulic accumulator cavity. Avoid mechanic damage of the diaphragm.

Straighten out the protruding edges of the diaphragm and fit the flange. Fix the flange with the bolts.

Inflate the air pressure using a car pump or compressor. Check the required pressure with a car pressuregauge.

Screw a protective plastic cap on the nipple and connect the flexible water supply tube. Open the water supply valve on the accumulator and make sure that the connections are tight.
